The Boone Hope Foundation is the only teacher-led charitable foundation of its kind, according to the National School Foundation.

We are proud to announce. . . . .
The Boone Hope Foundation has been chosen as the 2018 Iowa Business/Organization of Character by the Robert D. and Billie Ray Center.

This award honors the tremendous support and hard work by MANY people - school staff and community members -- in serving Boone students and families. The Boone Hope Foundation was recognized at the 2018 Iowa Character Awards banquet on Friday, July 20th at the Prairie Meadows Event Center.

The Robert D. and Billie Ray Center provides character and leadership development strategies to improve civility and develop ethical leaders throughout the world.

And so, the story begins . . . . .

In the fall of 2005, an in-service session on poverty prompted employees of the Boone School District to try to make a difference in the lives of Boone students and the community. In early December, to raise funds to help, Boone schools employees served desserts, entertained, and provided baskets for a silent auction at the first Festival of Hope at the Boone County Hospital.

As a result of strong public support, the employees formed the Boone Hope Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit tax-exempt organization that provides one-time assistance to students and their families in time of need or emergency. The Boone Hope Foundation services the students of Boone Community, Sacred Heart, and Trinity Lutheran Schools.

The festival tradition continues on December 1, 2018 as we host the 14th Annual Festival of Hope at the Boone High School Commons. Please join us to celebrate a day of community pride and holiday spirit!
